Partial Jet Leasing

Private jet ownership can be a difficult decision to make for those considering it. Whether it’s the delayed flights at commercial airports or the unreliability of charter flights. There are two options for the path of private jet ownership and each one has benefits and drawbacks.

One type of jet ownership involves purchasing a private aircraft in full.
The owner is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance as well as any fuel consumption. Private jets can cost several million dollars depending on the aircraft selected. Maintenance can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars a year especially when it comes to storing the aircraft in a hanger at an airport. Corporations and wealthy individuals opt for complete jet ownership when their have frequent air travel needs. The cost may be less of a factor than the time and convenience it saves them with their business matters.

Fractional jet ownership is another path that individuals and companies choose. This type of ownership allows several owners to invest in a private aircraft and split the costs equally. With fractional jet ownership, the amount a person owns is proportionate to the amount of time he or she gets to use the aircraft. Hours are set annually and those who own a greater proportion get additional benefits such as shorter call-out times or aircraft upgrades if available. Typically a person who owns 1/8 of the aircraft is allowed to use it for 100 hours a year (50 hours a year if they own 1/16). Fractional jet ownership may not allow for double bookings, but there are a few companies that will allow it provided they have another aircraft available from their fleet.

Both complete jet ownership and fractional jet ownership have their setbacks. Complete jet ownership is expensive, but allows for greater freedom. Fractional jet ownership is less expensive, but there are time restrictions. Regardless of the type of jet ownership you choose, both types offer government tax breaks for those who qualify. They also eliminate the hassle associated with commercial air travel and the confusing process with charter service. Check with an aircraft provider to see what they can do for you.
